We are proud to present our next installment of the digital reserve collection with Poland's ever so talented act: The Phantom.
Rhythms & Moods is a highly focused collection of compositions that center around 3 key areas: romantic cinematic soundscapes, thick low-end construction & soulful melodic application.
Troubles, Troubles, Troubles begins the EP; a breathtaking combination of lush pads, bluesy vocals, melancholic guitar riffs and gritty drum work reminiscent of legendary artists like Portishead or Bjork.
The release moves into a psuedo club environment with Panorama. The Phantom continues to lead off with bright pads but completely transforms the mood of the album into a reverent piece of Vangelis tinged hip-hop. Panorama combines neon synth lines and 808 drum work perfect for any high brow dance floor.
Palace is a masterpiece of warmth and heart; the mix of crisp piano rhythms and soulful vocal cuts are reminiscent of 90's era summertime anthems with a 2014 twist. The Phantom remains in a groove while bringing in beautiful pads and synthetic leads to perfect the mood and message of the EP.
Finally we come to Watermarked, the perfect finish to Rhythms & Moods. Club ready low end and drum work and poppy leads create a highly accessible but wildly original tune that will work well in the ride or at the party. The mixture of referential synth grooves and piano stabs bring the track to a very sophisticated realm and secure its place in this imaginitive collection of compositions.
The cassette version of this release comes with two cinematic bonus cuts.

There is something unimaginable happening here: blast-beats, toilet sounds, sonic manipulation, and a wild imagination for experimental beat. ◎omaru◎ is such a huge surprise to listen through even now because of how silly yet emotionally rewarding the progressions become on each track. I believe this to be one of the most entertaining and underlooked releases one will find, but I'm glad it's hear for the world to eventually recognize~ Dave T.
